Panasonic today announces the LUMIX DMC-FX500, the company’s first digital camera with a 3-inch touch-screen LCD – also featuring a 25mm ultra-wide-angle Leica DC lens, 5x optical zoom and 10.1 megapixels.  With a dual control system using both touch-screen and joystick operation, the ability to record High Definition (HD) video and advanced Intelligent Auto technologies, the FX500 packs innovative features and intuitive design, helping consumers enrich the digital photography experience and take better photos.

SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) announces its next Xacti digital movie camera designed for people with active lifestyles – the DMX-CA8. The new digital movie camera is not only waterproof*1, fully compatible with most active lifestyles, but also added are higher resolution photographs up to 8-megapixels and a new ‘Face Chaser’ function for movies in addition to the existing ‘Face Chaser’ function for photos. The Xacti DMX-CA8 will be on sale in Japan from mid-May 2008.

BARCELONA, SPAIN : At Mobile World Congress, IBM (NYSE: IBM) debuted mobile services of today and the future – from social networking to the built-in security and service quality that telecom customers expect in a digital world.

As consumers increasingly demand convenience, control, flexibility and choice, creating a consistent and innovative customer experience across devices and networks has become a top focus for communications service providers.
