Android users now have a new choice when it comes to browsers. Opera Software announced that Opera Mobile 10.1 beta is available in the Android Market for free, providing the many millions of Android users better browser performance and an improved user experience.

Android users are known to appreciate speed and functionality. They are also known for their demands for new and improved software for their handsets, as well as an almost emotional relationship to their phones. Now, they have the opportunity to run Opera Mobile, made by a company that shares their passion for a better browser.

Opera also launched an open developer API for the Opera Link browser synchronization service. Using this API developers can integrate Opera Link data with other services online and build applications with libraries made available for Java and Python.

Opera eleased the first alpha of Opera 11, the next version of the company’s award-winning desktop web browser. Opera 11 is the first Opera browser to include extensions, browser add-ons made using Opera application programming interfaces (APIs) and web standards like HTML5 and JavaScript. Opera was already the most powerful browser out-of-the-box; now, it adds a new level of customization. Opera 11 alpha is available from http://www.opera.com/browser/next/.

Opera releasing a new beta version of Opera 10.60, now more than 50% faster than its predecessor on selected JavaScript tests. Opera today made Yandex the default search engine on Opera’s mobile Web browsers for customers in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Effective immediately, anyone using Opera Mini in Russia and the CIS can access Russia’s most popular Internet search service directly from the start page of the browser. Opera Mini is freely available from www.operamini.com.
